Agile/Scrum at Leukeleu

Flexible development with maximum engagement

Since 2016, we’ve been working with the Scrum methodology at Leukeleu. And to be honest, we wouldn’t want to go back. Scrum gives us exactly what we need to build digital solutions that truly add value with a strong focus on collaboration, flexibility, and continuous improvement.

Why we love working Agile/Scrum

For us, the power of Agile/Scrum comes down to three things: engagement, flexibility, and transparency.

First, there’s the close collaboration with the product owner from our client’s side. As a product owner, you’re part of our development team. You contribute ideas, help make decisions, and in many ways, co-create with us. It often feels like you’re one of our colleagues, no wonder many product owners are regularly at our office.

Second, this way of working gives us the freedom to adapt whenever needed. Each sprint is an opportunity to incorporate new insights. We build big things in small iterations without rigid timelines or endless delays.

Finally, Scrum provides clear check-in moments. During daily standups, sprint demos or retrospectives, we continuously track progress and feedback. This keeps the product moving forward and evolving step by step with your needs.

How does this work at Leukeleu?

Not familiar with Agile/Scrum? No worries; here’s how we do it.

Scrum is an agile framework for developing software in a structured yet flexible way. Together with you, we start by translating your ideas and requirements into clearly defined units of work: epics and stories.

  • Our developers estimate the complexity of each story.
  • The product owner works with us to set priorities.

Then we work in sprints; fixed time periods of usually two to three weeks. Each sprint begins with a sprint planning session, includes daily standups, and ends with a sprint demo and a retrospective.

Our Scrum Master supports the team and ensures we stay aligned with Scrum principles. This keeps the pace high, communication tight, and focus clear.

Scrum in practice: what do all these terms actually mean?

Stories

Sprint
A 2–3 week period in which we work on a selected set of stories.

Sprintplanning
The start of a sprint, where we decide what we’re going to tackle.

Includes developers, the product owner, and the Scrum Master.

Standup
A daily 15-minute check-in to align and identify any blockers.

Sprintdemo
A live demo of the functionality developed during the sprint.

Retrospective
A moment to reflect: what went well, what could be improved?
